A HANDY TIP FOR YOUR FIGHT AGAINST MICE AND RATS

Do you know how to tell the extent of your mouse problem? Here is a quick suggestion.

Mice are sneaky! It is their innate ability to avoid detection that makes them able to thrive and to live off what they find around your homes and farm. In planning your defense against these pesky critters in your home or farm it’s important to know the extent of the problem.

When you see one mouse or rat you can be guaranteed to find many, many….many more. This is a tip on how to tell how many mice you have lurking in your walls or in your paddock.

Take a card or a square piece of paper. Give it a good soak in Vegetable Oil. Peg the cards 10m apart in your garden of field. Check the next morning. The scope of the destruction of the card will indicate how many mice you have. For best results use a downloadable card or a premade card with pre- made markers for a more exact measure (Follow the link below to find one such card option or visit us in-store.) You can also use a square of graph paper or divide up your cards into squares. Depending on the percentage of squares chewed, you'll be able to measure the extent of your mouse problem.

One thing to note is that you won’t get an accurate reading if there are other sources of feed nearby. When you place the cards, make sure there is nothing else that might attract them. If you bait or trap, having extra sources of food available to mice and rats will also limit the effectiveness.
