A Great Sorghum option for Forage and Hay

Tara Rural Supplies has is gearing up for Sorghum season. We have access to several varieties and have quite a few in stock and ready to go.

Flexi-Graze from S&W Seeds is another great option for Forage Sorghum available at Tara Rural Supplies. We currently have Flexigraze ™ in stock with enhanced seed treatment. Here is a bit more about this Hybrid Forage Sorghum.

Flexi-Graze is fantastic for Hay and Forage. A finer stem and leaves along with a higher leaf to stem ratio make Flexigraze™ an optimal and palatable forage option. It has a quick regrowth rate making for multiple grazings over its growth period with first grazing when it reaches 1 meter after (approximately) 50 days.

Flexi-Graze is a Sudan X Sudan Grass Hybrid. As with other Sudan hybrids, Flexigraze™ offers safety from Prussic Acid. Late Flowering allows for a greater window for cutting and grazing.  While it has late flowering, Flexigraze™ has high early seed vigor and great standability.

Just to offer a few numbers: Seed Size is around 40 to 50 thousands seeds/kg. For Marginal Dryland expect to use around 3-5kg/h and 8-15kg/h for Dryland. It’s ready to plant at ground temps around 16°c.
